Select League 2027

​

Try-outs for the 2026-2027 Girls SELECT teams will be held Early December  at Lakeside Middle School.  This is a competitive non-travel league for girls in Albemarle and surrounding counties that offers 2 days of practice/week (total of 3-4 hours) for a 11-12-week season, with 5 local/regional tournaments.  Players receive a practice shirt, a game jersey, volleyball, and a backpack.  Each team has a paid head coach and paid assistant coach.  Teams from outside Albemarle County and ACVC are invited to participate in tournaments (contact us for more info)

Official Try-Out Registration

Participants MUST register for Try-outs.  We have limited slots so don't delay.  Registration opens mid-October  Note: the mandatory Parent Meeting will be held at the same time as try-outs. 

 

​​Try-Outs: Early December at Lakeside Middle School​ 

• $50 non-refundable try-out fee (players are neither guaranteed a spot on a team nor their requested practice day/time).

• Players will receive an email regarding placement within one week of tryouts.

• Payment of ($199) is due within 24 hours of offer/placement email to secure your spot.

Season: January 31-April 25, 2027

Practice days/times: Practices will be a 2-day combo of Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Coaches are requesting their practice days now and we will post them prior to tryouts.

​Practice Locations: Hollymead Elem, Brownsville Elem,  or Greer Elem

​

Tournament/Match Info: Tournaments are played in a round robin style.  Teams should expect to play two matches (best out of 3 sets) and work one match.  Occasionally, teams will have a bye.

Cost: $649 

• $199 due to secure spot on team

• ​Remainder of $450 must be paid in full by January 15th

 

Team Info: Post-tryouts, players will receive an email with either 1) a team offer or 2) coaches suggestions for improvement

Player Eligibility/ Age Description:

For use during the 2026-2027 season.  Birth Certificates are required to register and will be kept confidential.  We follow the USAVolleyball rules that define age divisions (below) and gender (assigned female at birth). To determine the correct age division, please find the Birth Month in the left column and then the Birth Year in the same row.  The heading of the column matching the Birth Year is the correct age division.
